Today marks the beginning of PDSA’s Big Weigh In campaign, in partnership with Royal Canin!
The campaign, which runs till 31st March 2024, encourages dog and cat owners nationwide to book a FREE Big Weigh In appointment at their local participating vet practice to get their pet weighed and body condition scored – intending to educate more pet owners and protect pets against the growing issue of pet obesity.
Thank you to all of the practices that have signed up to participate. We wish you a successful campaign and hope you get to meet lots of pet owners and their pets, helping them on their journey to an ideal weight.

We need you! (to record the weight and BCS of every pet seen during the campaign)
Part of the campaign’s objective is to understand the current pet obesity situation. To assess the pets seen throughout the campaign, we need you to record every pet’s weight and BCS. What’s better is that for every weight and BCS recorded by your practice, Royal Canin will donate £1 to PDSA*!
Recording every client’s weight and BCS is easy, just visit the Weight Tracker. Select your practice and complete the online form with the pet’s details and that’s it!
